Don't Miss These Black Friday Games!
Just because it's Sunday doesn't mean we're free from the Black Friday sales yet, especially not when it comes to games. And while I only picked up a few games, I wanted to check out the deals on games I already own to give ya'll some recommendations. So let me take your through my wild Steam Library and show off some of the best deals on games I know and love!
For The Cozy Gamer
So you like cozy games. Well here are some of my favorites, what they retail for, and how spicy the sales get! Some of these are staples in the cozy gaming space and some of these are my personal favorites that I have found a lot of peace and joy playing.
Stardew Valley
Original Price: $14.99
Sale Price: $10.49
I wasn't about to start this off with any game other than Stardew Valley. This is a staple in the cozy gaming community and if you don't have it yet please take this opportunity to buy it. Not only is this one of, if not the best, farming games out there, but it also has a bustling mod community. So even if you do everything possible in the game, there are countless mods you can install for a fresh experience. I legitimately cannot recommend this game highly enough so please take advantage of this sale if you don't already own it!
Gourdlets
Original Price: $4.99
Sale Price: $3.99
If you're looking for a cozy game that just allows you to relax with no rush or real limitations, Gourdlets is perfect for you. In this cozy game you just build a villages for these little guys called Gourdlets. They have no preferences or limitations because they're just happy to have whatever homes you give them. Coupled with the cute graphics and beautiful soundtrack, this is a truly cozy experience that will help relax anyone!
Bear & Breakfast
Original Price: $19.99
Sale Price: $10.99
The witty dialogue of Bear & Breakfast is unmatched. In this cozy management game, you play as a bear masquerading as a human and trying his hand at running a chain of bed & breakfasts. You complete little tasks for other creatures living in the forest, decorate your space, and try not to fall victim to the crushing reality that is capitalism. This is such a witty and fun game that has so much more than meets the eye as you get to know your companions and attempt to not scare the guests when you forget to put on your human disguise.
Spiritfarer: Farewell Edition
Original Price: $29.99
Sale Price: $4.49
With a deal this substantial that should be reason enough to pick up this beautiful title. Spiritfarer is one of my favorite cozy games and really shifts your perspective on love, loss, and death itself. This is such a beautiful game that really makes you think as you help spirits cross over into the afterlife and slowly piece together the life you yourself lived before becoming the Spiritfarer.
Overcrowd: A Commute 'Em Up
Original Price: $19.99
Sale Price: $4.99
I cannot fully explain the chokehold this resource management sim had on me. It's a simple game really. You have to design metro stations that appeal to everyone, hire employees to keep them running smoothly, and upgrade them to their highest level. Yet, such a simple concept keeps me coming back for hours. It's relaxing and has just enough puzzle solving with how to keep all these trains running, that it isn't a complete no brainer.
For The Horror Gamer
Alright, so maybe cozy isn't your speed. Well, lucky for you I also happen to be a lover of all things horror and have quite a few spooks and scares up my sleeve too. And let's be real, some of these deals are certainly worth dying for!
7 Days to Die
Original Price: $44.99
Sale Price: $31.49
Probably one of the biggest staples in the zombie genre, 7 Days to Die has been around since the beginning of the internet. Okay, maybe not that long but it's certainly been around for a hot minute and much like fine wine, it only gets better with age. This game has come a long way and not that it's finally hit full release it's even better. Plus, there's also a bustling mod scene so even when you think you've done it all, fought zombies of the highest level, there's still more to do. Heck, I have over 300 hours and I'm only just getting to the point where I'm going to put some mods on my game!
Frictional Games Bundle
Hear me out for a second. This gaming bundle has one of the best deals and all of these games are pretty much instant classics of the horror genre.
Original Price: $114.95
Sale Price: $24.19
Games Included: Amnesia: The Bunker, Soma, Amnesia: The Dark Descent, Amnesia: Rebirth, Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs, Penumbra Collectors Pack
I could rant and rave about almost all of these games. Frictional Games creates truly iconic horror that preys on what the player fears most and there's an underlying stress to each game that you cannot truly fight the demons that pursue you. Each one of these games will stay with you for years after playing and though I've found them too scary to personally play, I've watched all of them and even tried my hand several times at Amnesia: The Dark Descent. So if nothing else scares you, try this bundle and let me know how far you made it without having to stop and look at pictures of cute animals.
Creepy Shift: Roadside Diner
Original Price: $6.99
Sale Price: $4.89
A newer game that instantly became a favorite of mine. Creepy Shift is inspired by a Creepy Pasta about a roadside diner that has some rather strange rules. Ironically, despite the stress of playing this game, I found the actual mechanics to be quite cozy and fun. You put away deliveries (who the heck is delivering in the middle of the night), clean tables, and generally try to get rid of those blood stains. It's fun and thrilling as I fight for my life and uncover the story as I go! Given that this is volume 1, I'm excited for what future volumes might hold and kinda wish there was a no stress mode so I could just clean up my diner in peace.
Rusty Lake Bundle
I can't help myself, this bundle is also too good to pass up. Plus the personal bias of it being my favorite creepy game series!
Original Price: $28.93
Sale Price: $19.36
This bundle includes all of the Rusty Lake games and their spinoffs such as Cube Escape and The White Door. This series is truly surrealist as you go on a point and click adventure to discover the lore of this strange family and watch a series of events unfold that all lead back to the mysterious Rusty Lake. I've been a fan of this series for years now and if you want to check out a few of the games before buying, many of them are actually available for free on their website!
The Witch's House
Original Price: $14.99
Sale Price: $7.49
I'm a huge fan of RPG Horror games and The Witch's House is actually one of my favorites. It's both witty and spooky, and deals well with some hard topics. I do recommend checking out trigger warnings for this one, but if you're looking for a game to start you off in the genre, this is one of the best. It really shows you how RPG Horror games work and what to expect with other titles.
Perhaps one day I'll write about my RPG Horror experiences too! Afterall, it's one of my favorite horror sub-genres.
For The Variety Gamer
Some games just don't fit in one category or I didn't have enough to make their own yet still wanted to include them. So here are some other game recs that I really think are worth checking out. These range from survival to roguelikes to everything in between. So if you really want to branch out, try these on for size!
Crafty Survivors
Original Price: $11.99
Sale Price: $8.39
This action roguelike is simply built different. Crafty Survivors is a massive game with tons of different levels and unique characters to try out. There's a build for every person as you move through the levels, fixing up your buildings to make yourself even stronger. With more updates on the horizon, this game has captivated me for months now!
Don't Starve Together
Original Price: $14.99
Sale Price: $5.09
DST has been providing me with hours of entertainment for years now. This was the game I played to get through those initial days of the pandemic and it will always have a place in my heart because of it. It's fantastic to play with friends and even years later there are still free updates being created for this beautiful game. And once again, if you somehow manage to get bored of the base game despite the frequent updates, there are also tons of amazing mods that you can easily download for the game. These include quality of life or things to make your game ten times harder. There's something for everyone in DST and I love that every world is completely customizable!
Oneshot
Original Price: $9.99
Sale Price: $5.99
Words cannot do this game justice. At its core, Oneshot is a puzzle/ adventure game where you need to guide Niko through a world plagued by darkness. I can't say anymore than that because this game is best played with limited knowledge of what's happening. It's absolutely beautiful though and a game that has stuck with me even years later.
Terraria
Original Price: $9.99
Sale Price: $4.99
The devs said they were finished updating this game yet still it carries on. In this pocket sized adventure game you truly get to do it all. It's the sort of game that you keep going back to year after year just to see what new and interest things have been added. Plus, how many games let you build a Hell-evator!
In Conclusion
And there you have it, my Black Friday recommendations of games I already own. Each one of these games has captivated me and had me near obsessed with it at some point over the years. And writing this has made me want to revisit each of them again just to see what's changed. They hold fond memories for me and I hope you might create some memories with them as well!
Let me know if you pick up any of these amazing games or if you have any that you think should be added to the list!
💛 Memento
