Miside: Cute and Creepy
It finally happened, Miside finally released. Now I can go hang out with my cute Tamagotchi girlfriend Mita, do little odd jobs for her, and... oh Gods I'm really in the game.
Okay, let's rewind a little.
Back during Steam Next Fest I had the pleasure of trying out the demo of Miside. The game looked incredibly promising when it came to both the cute aesthetic and creepy underlying atmosphere. So before I even started I had high hopes for this one. And let me tell you, I wasn't disappointed in the slightest. Not only did I give it high marks in pretty much every category, but I was left instantly wishlisting it in the hopes that I wouldn't have to wait too long.
Just in case you wanted to see my ratings I've included them here!
Last night I happily bought the full release of the game and cannot wait to record and play it to share with everyone. Because this demo had me on the edge of my seat. The beginning is so cute as you perform little tasks to make Mita happy. It's cozy in the best sort of way. And I still stand by wanting a game mode where I just get to take care of Mita because that alone was quite enjoyable.
I mean, just look at how cute this interface is!
And as soon as you let your guard down, suddenly it's like the creepiness is amped up to 100! I don't want to give away too much, but the game is all about you being transported into the Tamagotchi with Mita and the life you live(?) together now. It's a fun concept and one I won't soon be forgetting about.
Seriously, I'm not about to forget how much this hallway freaked me out.
So if you've been looking for a creepy cute game to play, I can't recommend Miside enough! You certainly won't ever be lonely, not if Mita has anything to say about it! So stay awhile, maybe even forever!
And if you want even more proof that it's fantastic, consider checking out my playthrough of the demo! The Miside section starts at 30:30.
